Chrissi Island, also known as Gaidouronissi (donkey) Island, is one of the 81 uninhabited islands off the coast of Crete. Chrissi island is located 9 nautical miles south of Ierapetra, about 30 min via our motor yacht. Its ecosystem and natural beautyhave included it in the European initiative NATURA 2000 to protect the southernmost gem of the Mediterranean with its exotic waters, golden beaches and unique Libyan cedar trees covering about 1/4th of the island.
While visiting Chrissi island you will enjoy the path through the forest and the sand dunes that lead you from the dock to the beach, the golden sand, covering the entire island and it's unique fauna and flora. The northern shores (Belegrina, Hatzivolakas, Kataprosopo) are filled with sea shells.

Depart for Chrissi Island for a fast, exciting and personalised 25 minute boat ride to the island. If we’re lucky, we’ll see dolphins during our trip. |

Arrive at Vougiou Mati Beach. After a 10 minute walk north through the Lebanon cedar forest, you’ll reach Belegrina (“Golden”) Beach with thousands of shells. You’ll have 3 hours for swimming, laying on the beach, or exploring the island on foot while enjoying all the shades of the palette of blue tropical waters of Chrissi Islandl. |

Return back to the boat and we cruise east to another bay between Chrissi Island and the Mikronissi Island, hidden from the wind and away from the masses of tourists. On the way to our destination we’ll offer you refreshments. We will anchor there for 3 hours. You’ll have time to swim, go snorkeling to admire the undersea beauty, or even go fishing. Meanwhile the captain and crew will prepare your lunch with Cretan dishes made with fresh homegrown ingredients, to be savored in entertaining company with very good bottled wines, beers, and soft drinks (unlimited consumption), topped off with fruits and traditional sweets under the shade of the boat shade-tent. |
